What is Crack Filling?

From sidewalks and driveways to parking lots and patios, every pavement experiences the natural wear and tear that comes with aging. Ground movement, extreme weather conditions, and invasive tree roots are additional leading causes of pavement cracking.

When cracks start to spread, it’s time to fill them. Crack filling is a type of maintenance that should be performed annually throughout the life of your pavement to ensure its longevity and functionality. Crack filling also helps you avoid more costly repairs and replacements down the road.

Our Crack Filling Process

Our crack filling process involves these three steps.

Prepare the Surface

Use a wire brush, broom, or compressed air to clean the cracks thoroughly, ensuring proper adhesion of the crack filler.

Apply the Material

Pour the crack filling material onto the crack with a caulk gun, allowing it to seep all the way down.

Finish & Cure

Using a putty knife or trowel, level the crack filler with the surrounding surface, smoothing it out so no bumps or uneven areas remain. Leave the material untouched until fully cured.
